Energetics announces Carbon Neutral Status (06/08)
Leading integrated climate change, energy/water efficiency and sustainable solutions provider Energetics is pleased to announce their carbon neutral status.
Acquired through the Australian Government's Greenhouse Friendly™ initiative, 100% of the greenhouse gas emissions associated with the life-cycle of Energetics' services were calculated.
Energetics will be purchasing Greenhouse Friendly™ offsets, generated from energy efficiency projects, to compensate for its total greenhouse footprint. Along with the purchase of offsets, Energetics will continue to implement internal carbon mitigation projects and to purchase accredited Greenpower to further decrease the size of its annual greenhouse footprint.
Chief Executive Officer Tony Cooper said, “Energetics set out to achieve carbon neutrality 12 months ago as we believe firmly in practicing what we preach. As Greenhouse Friendly™ is currently the only government-accredited carbon neutral program in Australia and due to the transparency and rigour of the program, Energetics maintains a policy of recommending Greenhouse Friendly™ to our clients who wish to become carbon neutral”.
