Energetics’ Perth-based team of energy and climate specialists continues to grow with the appointment of experienced industrial energy specialist, Joel Hextall. Joel’s appointment as a Principal Consultant with Energetics is a reflection of his significant experience in helping business and industrial clients to optimise energy management and the efficiency of complex sites and processes.
An electrical engineer and Certified Energy Manager®, Joel has amassed a great deal of on-the-ground experience. He began his eight-year tenure with Schneider Electric performing audits for clients’ energy efficiency, performance and submetering, identifying $1.4 million of energy savings across numerous industry sectors, including mining, metals and plastics. He was also the bid manager for the company’s successful appointment to a panel of energy auditors for the NSW Office of Environment and Heritage (OEH) and was a facilitator for the Office’s Environmental Upgrade Agreement financing model.
Joel has spent the last three years based in Perth as a business development manager and then account manager providing electrical solutions to some of Australia’s largest names in the oil and gas, mining, utilities, defence and renewables sectors. He also led an Internet of Things (IoT) community of practice and keenly follows the latest developments in technological solutions to energy and carbon challenges.
“I’m incredibly excited to be joining Energetics, which has been delivering leading work in energy management, emissions reduction strategies and climate change risk advisory services in Western Australia since 1998 and is highly regarded across business and industry,” said Joel.
“It’s a really interesting time in WA following the state government’s announcement that it is targeting net-zero emissions by 2050, with a growing economy and a pipeline of major resource projects.
“Add to that the impacts of potential changes to national and international policies and markets, and the increasing need to address the physical and transitional impacts of climate change, there is a great deal of change ahead for WA businesses and industries,” he said.
